Free 1950s Patterns to swoon over

Why not use some of our free 1950s Patterns to make your own custom fabric? These patterns are a great way to make a simple repeat pattern fabric, perfect for turning into home furnishings or fashion accessories. The easiest way to do this is to find the designs you like and upload them to a program such as Canva. Once uploaded you can then arrange them into a perfectly spaced pattern (the snap grid function on Canva is perfect for this) and print them out a sheet at a time onto image transfer paper and apply them to your fabric.

OR use your patterns to create unique shapes, cut them out individually so you can place them by hand on your fabric, this is obviously a bit more time consuming but it gives you the chance to be a bit more creative with your pavement and it saves a ton of transfer paper too. Once your fabric is made you can turn it into anything you want!
