Epoxy Pens

Hey everybody! I have just started doing the epoxy pens, no not the tumblers, LOL, but for anyone that has done the pens or tumblers…do I need to have a coat of epoxy on the pen before I put the waterseal design on it, or can I just put the waterseal on the painted pen, then epoxy. Wow that was a wordy, run on sentence!
Anyways, if someone can help me, I would greatly appreciate it because I don’t want to screw up a pen.
(by the way, I will post some pics of the ones I finished when I get home…yes I am at work)

I never made epoxy but keychain.
I would love to see yours.

Hello Mikki!

I have never personally made an epoxy pen, however my aunt makes the epoxy tumblers and she does not put epoxy on before the water slide design.

I would maybe think some adhesive to hold the image in place would be good, but I do not think you need to epoxy the pen before the design.

My first shot at epoxy pens!

First shot at resin pens. Didn’t know what I was doing but now that I have done it the first time, I know what to do different. Excited to make more resin pens and decorate with mixed colors.

I just joined these forums and am looking forward to participating.

These pens are awfully cool and are something I have always been very curious about. I will need to research these further!
