Inkscape is a free and open source design package for Windows and Mac which is powerful, easy to use and highly recommended for crafters looking to start creating their own designs. One common issue people encounter is ‘font clipping’ where a font with PUA encoded glyphs appears to be clipped or cut off outside of a certain box.
- In this screenshot we see the font Lovely Melissa is cut off in Inkscape both on the top and bottom of the font.
2. Start by selecting your created font design which is being clipped.
3. Go to Path at the top and click ‘Object to Path’.
4. The font will now have the glyphs fully visible in inkscape without any clipping, cropping or cutting.
