When creating a design for an adult t-shirt, how big should the design be?

It depends on a few things: t-shirt size, whether or not it’s meant to be worn tucked in, if it’s meant as a full shirt design or just a corner logo or trim, whether it’s on the front, back, or sleeve (or if it’s meant to spill over from the torso to the sleeve)… I like to keep my designs less than 10-11" across if they’re meant for a woman, but I’ve seen designs 20" across on a 3x meant for a man. Similarly, since I’m short and wear my shirts tucked in, anything longer than about 8" gets lost below my belt - but 19" is not unreasonable for an overshirt or for t-shirt pajamas
