How to Use An Overlay in Procreate (Version 1)

Here I am going to show you how to use an overlay in Procreate on your iPad!
Version #1 (There are multiple ways you can use an overlay in Procreate.

Step 1 – Open a new artwork.

Step 2 – Click on the wrench icon at the top left, then click the add button.

Step 3 – Click Insert a file (or insert a photo) what you click on will depend on where you saved your pattern to.

Step 4 – Choose your file / photo you want.

Step 5 – Make sure to cover the whole board (or part if you won’t use the entire space).

Step 6 – Create a new layer.

Step 7 – Fill the layer in with white.

Step 8 – Click the eraser and select the brush you would like to use.

VOILA! You’ve just used an overlay!

And here’s another method I’ve not tried for using an overlay! I’ve only created overlays with clipping masks. Thank you for sharing more options in your tutorials! :slight_smile:
