Ensure that your file has been downloaded and unzipped to use.
- Open Affinity Designer.
- Create a new file.
- Open an image into your new workspace (this is so we can see how to use the background file)
- When the image opens, ensure it is a transparent / PNG file. This is so when we apply the background we don’t get a “box” around the image.
Click on Select > all in the top toolbar (1) and then Edit > copy.
- Select Edit > Paste to paste the image into your blank workspace.
- Select File > open and select your background file.
- Select your background image. Select > all (1) and then copy it Edit > Copy (2)
- Go back to your workspace with the image on it and select Edit > Paste, to paste in your background image.
- Resize the background image to fit your workspace.
- Finally go across to the layer’s palette and click on the background layer. Click and drag the background to the bottom layer. This will make your background be at the base later and the image (pineapple) will be the top layer so it will be seen.
