HOW TO USE GLYPHS IN AFFINITY DESIGNER.
1- Ensure your font has been unzipped and installed in your PC. If you are unsure how to do this, you can find the tutorial HERE.
2- Open a new file. Select the text icon on the toolbar. Type your text.
3- Highlight your text and select the font you require in the top dropdown box.
4- Select Character Map app on your PC (you can do a search on your PC if you are unsure where it is located.)
5- Once Character Map is opened Select the font you are using from the drop-down box.
6- Ensure the Advanced box is checked. You will see the Character set appear, in these drop down boxes, go to " Group by" and select " Unicode Subrange. A second window will appear.
7- In the new window scroll down to the bottom option and select " Private use Characters" This will access your Glyphs in the Character Map window.
8- Select the Glyph you would like to use in your text by clicking on it (1). Then click on the Select button (2), then click on the Copy button to copy the glyph (3).
10- Click back onto your original page with the text on it. edit your text by removing the letter you will be replacing with a glyph.
11- With your cursor where you would like the glyph to appear, select ‘Edit’ on the top toolbar (1) in the dropdown box. Select ‘Paste special’. A new pop up box will appear. In this box select ‘Unicode Text’ (2) and select OK.
12- Your glyph will now appear.
13- This can now be repeated for as many glyphs as you need.
