What motivates you to create?

Sometimes I need a little push to get started.

Sometimes I am definitely not in a mood to craft. Especially with the quarantine. Usually I make myself do a routine and get up, take a shower, and go immediately to my craft space. I put on music and light a candle then get to work!

I keep ideas of things I want to create on my phone in a separate list. When I need a good idea, I visit that list and look for something that inspires me!

Hi! After a tough start to the year, even before the outbreak I’ve really been struggling! I do find though, that a browse of Pinterest often helps spark some ideas. I also tend to come up with ideas when I’m relaxing and having some time out. Sometimes a break can be really helpful

Some days it takes a lot to get me motivated and that is when I turn to Pintrest. I always find ideas and tutorials there. Other days, I get lost in arts and crafts and then I look up and I have been locked away for hours and didn’t even know.

I browse Pinterest all the time to get ideas. Sometimes I’ll look at someone else’s design and say to myself, "That would be cute if … And then I go from there. I had an idea to cut out some Papel Picado sheets for my granddaughter’s Quince last summer. I looked at all the different designs and bought some svg files and then just took them apart and created my own. I couldn’t get my Silhouette to cut the fragile tissue so I used card stock. It turned out so perfect! My one downfall in my creativity is I forget to take pictures.

Crafting is a stress reliever for me. I usually craft for gifts and cards for people so when something is coming up like a holiday or a birthday, that’s what gets me even more motivated.

I find myself needing motivation to do actual work instead of my crafts. I get so got up in them and don’t want to stop! I do need motivation when my day and my crafts aren’t really going as planned :woman_shrugging:
