More information on this Design

INCLUDED:

- 200 PNG (and SVG) puzzles and their solutions

- Puzzle tutorial

Characteristics:

- Natural operation precedence

- Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, and Division used (random mixture)

– Easy version with only results missing

The "Equation Matrix" is a challenging puzzle composed of rows and columns, and it's not limited to squares – it can have more rows than columns or vice versa, where each row represents a math equation and each column represents a math equation as well.

Within the grid, there are missing numbers that you need to discover. These missing numbers are whole numbers between 1 and X, and each number is used only once throughout the entire grid. X represents the size of the puzzle grid (rows×columns, without answers)

Four basic mathematical operations are used: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, with the ability to not allow negative results and also set amount of visible clues to make it easier to solve puzzles.

The division sign can be ÷ or /, but in this set is ÷.

RULE OF OPERATIONS

There are two versions of the puzzle when it comes to order: natural precedence where multiplication and division take precedence over addition and subtraction in mathematical calculations. This means that you should perform multiplication and division operations before addition and subtraction within each equation. Left-to-right precedence means solving the equation from left to right, performing operations in the order they appear as you move from the left side of the equation to the right side.

In the standard order of operations, natural precedence, you would first perform the multiplication:

5 + 3 x 2 = 5 + (3 x 2) = 5 + 6 = 11

With left-to-right precedence, you would first perform the addition from left to right.

5 + 3 x 2 = (5 + 3) x 2 = 8 x 2 = 16

Puzzles in this set use NATURAL PRECEDENCE.
