Red Tailed Hawk Bird Stock Photo | Wildlife Photography

A photo of a red-tailed hawk (Buteo jamaicensis) sitting in the branches of a tree. As I went to get the mail one day, I glanced up and noticed this magnificent bird of prey in the tree just over the mailbox! They paid me very little attention, sparing me maybe one glance (which I did not manage to get a picture of!), but continued to scan their surroundings alertly. I grabbed my camera and came back out, and luckily they were still in their spot, and let me take a whole bunch of photographs! This hawk picture is my favorite.
