Design Bundles Become a Certified CarbonNeutral® Company

Design Bundles Become a Certified CarbonNeutral® Company

"Alex and I are passionate about climate and making a difference. We're trying to make Design Bundles a sustainable business by offsetting our carbon and supporting carbon-reducing initiatives. Our employees share our passion and also have their own ways of helping the environment." - Andy Croft, Design Bundles Co-founder.

As of May 1st, 2021, the design resource marketplace, Design Bundles officially became a certified CarbonNeutral® company in accordance with The CarbonNeutral Protocol and the standards laid out by the International Carbon Reduction and Offset Alliance (ICROA). They are the first company in their industry to achieve this major sustainability milestone.

How Design Bundles Achieved CarbonNeutral® Status

Achieving certified CarbonNeutral® status reflects Design Bundles' company-wide mission to become an environmental leader within the creative eCommerce space. To achieve CarbonNeutral® certification, Design Bundles adapted their internal systems and processes and the way they engage with external stakeholders, including:

  • Adopting remote working practices across the board. The entire team works from home. Operating in this way helps the environment and promotes employee wellbeing.
  • They do not expect their employees to travel for meetings or do a daily commute to the office, which significantly reduces carbon emissions.
  • The company uses digital channels to communicate with its internal team and external stakeholders. Once again avoiding excessive travel to attend in-person meetings.
  • Design Bundles offsets individual employee emissions from electricity use and their company server electricity usage by supporting carbon-reducing initiatives.

Design Bundles Supports Darkwoods Forest Conservation, Canada

To help the company meet its goal for a net-zero future, Design Bundles supports Darkwoods Forest Conservation, Canada. The land conservation initiative protects over 150,000 acres of forest in British Columbia, ensuring its continued existence for generations to come.

The Darkwoods Forest Conservation project also offsets over 400,000 tonnes of carbon emissions every year, protects native tree and animal species, and preserves environmentally friendly freshwater systems.

How This Impacts Design Bundles Customers

By achieving CarbonNeutral® certification and supporting the Darkwoods Forest Conservation initiative, Design Bundles are endeavoring to change business practices for the better, and stakeholders can see a knock-on effect.

For customers, the bottom line offering of high-quality, professional design resources remains the same; at the same cost. However, there is now a feel-good-consequence knowing purchasing with Design Bundles supports The CarbonNeutral Protocol, along with independent designers based over the globe.

As Design Bundles have supported net-zero CarbonNeutral® status through profits and internal margins, customers are in turn positively affected by the change.
