1. Sketch the Outline of Your Rose
Grab a beautiful rose or a floral photo to use as a design model. Now, sketch an oval swirl in the center of your paper. Just under it, draw a heart shape with the crease lining up with the middle of the oval swirl.
Add a semi-circle to the top of your heart, stretching from peak to peak like a rainbow. Then, draw a larger heart shape around your drawing, starting from the middle of the semi-circle.
Just below this, add a heart-shaped blob for a petal. Again, draw another heart shape connecting the top drawing with the petal shape. Carry on adding petals around the bottom and lower middle of your rose.

First, sketch in the line details for the rose petals.
Then, define the rose drawing by going over your sketch with a permanent pen. Use the bleeding ink brush in Procreate to get the same result.
Add jagged points to the petals to mimic a real, beautiful rose. Erase the softer sketch lines from your outline once done.
Add the final details to the edges of the petals.
What type of rose is your favorite? If you're using software like Procreate, you can add or change solid color with a paint bucket tool. Learn more about using color palettes in Procreate.
Practice your drawing skills by shading the inner parts of your rose. Add shadows to areas where there will be less “light”, such as where petals are layered or close together. Procreate's stipple texture brush is perfect for this.
Add a little Gaussian blur to smooth things out afterward.
