Hi Everyone! My Name is Bena the Designer behind Redearth and Gumtrees.
The name Redearth and Gumtrees comes from the love I have for Australia which has a red center at its heart with a lot of gum trees around.
My love for art comes from a very young age. I grew up watching my mom draw, paint, sew and do lots of cool arts and crafts and I just fell in love with it! I knew it was something I wanted to do in the long run. And that's how Redearth and Gumtrees shop was born!

In my shop, You can find me selling all sorts of different Cut file designs for Cricut, Silhouette Cameo and other major cutting machines.
Back in 2018, I started selling digital cut files as an extra source of income as I was holding a full-time job. Because I loved the designing and creating process so much, I decided to let go of my daytime job and focus 100% on expanding my shop and creating more designs.
Fast forward to 2021, I’m now working full time as a graphic designer and I love every second of it.
I love designing SVG cut files! For me, It was actually an aha moment on how I got into selling SVGs. Back in 2017, I had just purchased my first cutting machine (which was a Silhouette cameo 1) and I was dreaming of all the amazing physical products I could make and sell at Sunday markets, Facebook etc. I did manage to sell a few items, however, having a full-time job and a baby to care for was so stressful and time-consuming.

One day I was sitting in the tea room at my workplace and I thought to myself, why not just sell the digital designs instead of making the actual product?! and so that’s how it all began!
I don't really have a particular style, but I love anything rustic and farmhouse.
Gosh, Many things! I get inspired by what’s trending online. I look around for inspiration on Behance, Pinterest, and Youtube.

I have a quite busy day. I have 2 little girls with another baby on the way. Our day typically starts with me cooking breakfast, driving my eldest to school, and doing a bit of tidying up around the house. Once important house chores are done, I then reply to any emails, messages and start with any pending custom designs. If I still have time, I try to create more designs and post them in my shop.
My main go-to designing tool is Adobe illustrator. I also use my iPad Pro when I need to sketch something.
My best-selling item is the Crafter’s dream bundle. It has all the designs I createdover the years.

Do my homework on Copyright and intellectual property before I publish anything!
You never know if a word, sentence or design is already registered to someone else. It’s pretty wild and sometimes confusing like for example how the words ‘Beach babe ‘are trademarked!
Just start! It may seem a bit overwhelming at first but just take the first step. Sketch the first design, edit the first clipart and upload the first product. Fine-tuning comes with time. It didn’t take me a day to create the shop I have now. It took me weeks, months, and years of designing, editing, refining, learning and uploading.
As the saying goes ‘The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now’

My proudest achievement is being able to contribute financially to my family’s finances through selling my designs on design bundles.
My Design Bundles shop, I also have a website where you can learn more about me, find free SVG cut files, and find some cool crafting ideas. I also have a Facebook page.
Thanks so much, Bena, for taking part in the Design Bundles Seller Spotlight series. We loved learning more about you, your creative process, inspiration, and top tips. And a big thanks to our wonderful readers and designer community. Stay tuned for the next installment of the Seller Spotlight series.
