A Cricut SVG membership with unlimited downloads on Design Bundles is the Unlimited plan, at $24.99 a month or $239.90 a year. It includes unlimited downloads of SVG cut files for Cricut and Silhouette, from a library of over 3.6 million design files, with the Premium license and POD license on each download.
File formats in each download
Every product page has a Files included line listing the formats in that download, such as SVG, DXF, PNG or EPS. Check it before you download if your software needs a particular format.
Cricut Design Space uploads SVG, DXF and PNG files. SVG keeps the cut lines and the separate layers of a design. Silhouette Studio’s basic edition opens DXF files; opening SVG files needs Designer Edition or higher.
Uploading to Cricut Design Space
Design Space works with the SVG file itself, so a few steps come before the cut.
- Download the product. If it arrives as a ZIP archive, extract it first: Design Space uploads the SVG inside, not the ZIP.
- In Design Space, choose Upload, then Upload Image, and select the SVG file.
- Name and save the upload, add it to the canvas, and set the size before you cut.
- In Silhouette Studio, use File, then Open, and select the file.
Layered and single-layer designs
A single-layer design cuts from one sheet of material in one colour. A layered design is split into separate parts, usually one per colour or material; Design Space lists each layer so you can cut them from different materials and stack them.
To cut a single-layer design in more than one colour, the Slice tool in Design Space can split it into pieces.
Selling what you cut
On Unlimited you can sell any number of finished items you cut yourself, such as shirts, decals, mugs and signs. The POD license also lets you send designs as-is to print-on-demand platforms or outside printers that make the goods for you.
Selling or sharing the SVG files themselves is not allowed on any plan. Stencils, stamps and transfers made for other people to use have extra conditions, which the license sets out.
