We absolutely love traveling, and when we don't have the opportunity to do that, we like to look at different maps and dream of future trips. Once we've had an idea – why don't we unite our love to nature in all its variety, to traveling and maps with our love to watercolors. That's how this set of watercolor maps was born.
The base of our watercolor maps were the intricate terrains of different American regions. We've chosen the places by their interesting landscapes, and these include mountains and lakes, hills and swamps, prairies and rivers. We've tried to keep the volume and the depth of the relief, and at the same time we've added the hallmark softness of watercolor painting technique.
Our maps combine two different effects – they can be seen as abstract paintings or as maps with an interesting natural landscape.
Our maps implement several palettes. We've used the traditional natural colors for Sunny Canyon and Spring Mountain maps, and tender color combinations for Sunny Bay and Blue Lakes maps. The Blue Mountain and Pink Mountain turned out to be bright and high contrasted. Thanks to such multitude, everyone can pick a suitable map by its interesting relief or color scheme.
