Shapes are all around us. This 2d & 3D Shape Hunt will help your children learn to recognize them.
First of all, have the students name each shape:
2D Shapes: square, circle, triangle, and rectangle
3D Shapes: cylinder, cube, cone, and rectangular prism
Then, let them loose in the classroom, home, or even outside to find different objects that are these shapes. You may want them to write the names of the objects that they find to share with the class.
When they find an object, they put a tally mark in the rectangle to the right of the object. See who can find the most!
You may want them to do the hunts at the same time or separately.
