Geography is a subject loved by a lot of students. It's one of those subjects that you can totally relate to pupils. Great teachers are always looking for ways to make their lessons relative to their kids because they learn and retain best that way. This activity is ideal for those living in and outside of the U.S. These activities are great for all kinds of levels of learning, too. 50 States is a lot to remember and it is quite a lot of writing for less enthusiastic learners. Take that into consideration. Teachers may want to break up the activities. Teach 10 at a time or whatever number is best for the student. Some students may want to color the map. Coloring might actually help visual learners!

Keys have been provided and they may also be used for just the right kind of learner. The task of writing these states, capitals and abbreviations might be daunting for some students so take the time and customize the activities to fit those specific needs if necessary. You can give verbal hints. Provide a first and or last letter. Be sure to use directions, north east, south and west when explaining where a state is so that the student gets use to this kind of direction.
