Learning to read word families opens up a world of so many more words for your children. If they know the sounds of the consonants and the ending word parts, they can put together so many words!
With this worksheet, your children will practice reading Short o words.
You will want to print these on separate sheets of paper, not back-to-back. Cut out the circle with the consonants on it. Cut out the arrow at the bottom of that same page. Using a brad, attach a large paperclip to the center of the circle. Using tape, attach the arrow to the large paperclip. This will be your spinner.
Print enough copies of the ending word family sheets for each child.
For each child’s turn, they spin the arrow. Whichever letter they land on, that will be the beginning sound that they can work with. They then go to their worksheet and try to make up to 2 words with that ending. They write the words in the appropriate boxes.
The children take turns and the first one to fill up their page with correct words, wins!
