We all have those well-loved clothing or bedding pieces that hold a special place in our hearts, but you know you'll never use them again. Instead of letting them occupy space in your closet, why not turn them into a fun and unique DIY project? This rag rug how-to guide is the perfect solution! By reusing old t-shirts, blankets, or baby clothes, you can create a one-of-a-kind rug that looks great and holds a lot of sentimental value.
Materials You Will Need:
The Method:
This guide covers the braiding method with three strips of fabric, that loop through the sides of a center braid to work your rug together.
The Size:
I used a mixture of tank tops and short/long sleeve T-shirts in Small and Medium sizes. For my rag rug to get to 24 inches I used 8 shirts.
Project Length:
Depending on how large you want to make your rag rug, it can take anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks to complete.
