Introducing the Baker's dozen Lettering Brushes!
These custom brushes were handcrafted for the Procreate App on iPad Pro.
This brushset has become my go-to for lettering and making fonts.
There are actually 15 brushes in this brush set - I know it's not a dozen or even a baker's dozen. I finished off making thirteen and then made another two guide-type brushes just because they compliment the set, and are generally useful to lettering in Procreate in general.
These brushes are good for both beginners and advanced letterers - the majority of them are smooth calligraphy-style brushes with differently shaped tips, that take advantage of the new stabilization section of the brush studio in Procreate 5.2. There are some with a little less and some with a bit more, but they are mostly all designed to help lettering artists acclimatize to pressure sensitivity with apple pencil 2.
The other type of brushes included are colour brushes. Tutti Fruity, Hundreds and Thousands and Rainbow Sprinkles are all color brushes ? Tutti Fruity has a subtle hue shift with pressure, Hundreds and Thousands is a randomized one (with a dual knockout calligraphy brush) and Rainbow Sprinkles is just what it says on the tin - rainbow spectrum in sprinkles with pressure sensitivity. The starting color will match your color selection and adding pressure to your stroke will cycle through the spectrum. So a red pastel will give you a pastel rainbow going through the whole spectrum red, orange, yellow, green, and blue with more pressure. Bright Blue will give you a bright rainbow starting at blue, purple, pink, red, orange, yellow, and green with more pressure. So it's a really fun brush to practice and experiment with.
This brings us to the last type of brush in this set - dual brushes. There are 2 in this set - Fairy Bread and Hundreds and Thousands. With both of these, the idea was really just to see how they worked, and provide a template for people to experiment on their own.
There are 15 brushes in total in this set:
- All-Purpose Flour - a rounded monoline. This is a basic all-purpose brush, useful for quick handwriting, outlines, or doodling.
- Bakery - a modern calligraphic brush with pressure sensitivity
- Buttery - a smooth modern calligraphy-style brush with pressure sensitivity.
- Vanilla - a modern calligraphy-style brush with low contrast sensitivity.
- Cinnamon - a thick modern calligraphy style brush with some contrast.
- Icing sugar - a rounded and smooth brush with a slight contrast and a shadow.
- Tutti Fruity - a color brush with slight contrast in weight and color.
- Creamy - a smooth creamy modern calligraphy brush with pressure sensitivity.
- Donuts - a slightly squared calligraphy brush.
- Hundreds & Thousands - a dual brush with randomized color sprinkles and a thick subtracted calligraphy brush with pressure sensitivity.

I've included 2 Bonus brushes here too:
Guides - what it says on the tin, a page of basic guides of 4 lines (ascent, x height, baseline, descent,) brush to help keep your lettering on the level.
Biscuit - a squared-off brush. This is another guide-type brush; trace it, then fill it in.
