The basket will make a wonderful centerpiece or table decoration filled with nuts, fruit, candy, or any other treat for yourself or guests. You will need some craft glue or wood glue to complete the project. Full-color building instructions are included with the files.
This laser cutter basket design comes in DXF, EPS, and SVG files to work with whatever equipment and software you have. Files are available for 1/8", 1/4", 3mm, 5mm, and 6mm wood thicknesses. The files are ready to use with all major laser cutters. Each of the files has red and black lines. Cut the black lines first, then the red, outer lines. Most laser cutters know what to do, but if you're working in LightBurn you have to tell the machine what order to cut the lines.
This basket is really easy to put together. As shown on the instructions included, you'll just attach the long sides to the bottom, then fit the short sides on. It's that easy!
This kitchen basket can be cut from plywood, MDF, hardboard, or acrylic. Make sure to measure your material with digital calipers in several locations to be sure it is uniform in width. MDF and acrylic are usually uniform all over, but plywood isn't always and could affect how the basket pieces fit together.
I recommend painting wood materials with watercolor paints or stains to retain the wood grain look and not add any depth to the pieces. The pieces are designed to fit tightly together, so if you use a thicker paint, you will want to widen the holes to accommodate the extra width. I always glue the pieces together before painting (with spray paint most often) to make sure everything fits nicely and has an even coat.
Requirements:
• Files come in zip format. Typically files will open automatically or by double clicking on them. If not, you may need to get an unzipping program like Winzip or 7-Zip.
• You will need the appropriate software to open these files. This may include Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape, LightBurn or similar software.
