Tartans/Plaids have been popular in the world since the time they were first manufactured. Plaid prints originated from Scotland (another reason to love Scotland apart from their enchanted beauty) as early as the pre-medieval times. Initially, they came in woven wool fabric however today you can find them literally everywhere. Surprisingly, they held different meanings to people of different eras.

Tartan was actually used to decorate the items of clothing of Scottish clans. They were also used in heavy cloaks. However, as the tartan print started gaining popularity in the American culture, it became known as plaid.

There was once a time when plaid was highly popular among the punks, I remember being obsessed with it when I was a teen madly in love with Avril Lavigne. I wanted plaid all over my wardrobe but somehow I grew out of it.

But now, plaid is back and is kind of mainstream and literally, everyone seems to be extremely obsessed with it.

As crafters, we love using plaid designs on tees and mugs and that's why I created this monogram plaid bundle so we can bring some Scottish charm to our creations using sublimation.
