Ink Effect Photoshop Action

This is the ink effect action.

Early on, some of the AI generators just didn't give you the sharpest or cleanest lines with the images that were generated (and some still don't) so I created this action to make those images usable. It takes your flattened jpg images and gives them a black inky and slightly vintage look to them. Plain and simple, this turns your image black like it was drawn with an old leaking ink pen on a white background. Then, you can run the second action included in this set to remove the white background so that you can save your image as a transparent png. There are a lot of uses for your transparent png files including using them with sublimation, making transparent overlays, Photoshop brushes and so much more!

I feel this action works best on images that are already black/white and in a line art style or vintage ephemera images that are illustrations. It can work on color images but not on every single one (see more info and examples in the preview images). A .txt document and jpg images are included with tips and I show you my workflow with this action.

The magic of this action is you can take a small image, enlarge it to the size you need and then run the action and still get a sharp usable image. I've taken a 4096 x 4096 image, enlarged it to 9000 x 9000 pixels and ran the action and have gotten results I'm extremely happy with. You can use this on your AI generated images, textures (to create transparent png overlays) and even with fonts/text!

There is no guarantee this will work on EVERY image but I've provided examples in the previews, telling you the size of the image, what size I enlarged the image to prior to running the action, and then the results of the action. I have also mentioned in the preview images where the images are from or what AI generator made them. The example images are not included in your download.
