I'm designing a few super cute countdown to Halloween items for Plus. This is a reveal countdown with 20 blocks to remove and at the end the entire adorable image will be revealed. Each piece has something new to see behind it and I've added all kinds of super cute characters from our talented Plus team. I think it's very kid friendly. Not too, scary.
There are several different ways you can use this printable for counting down to Halloween. I would print and laminate the bottom or image page as well as the page with blocks. Remember when cutting laminate, to leave a little frame of laminate around each item you are cutting. The tiniest of frame will do. Cut out all of the squares and place a tiny glue dot or maybe even tape and adhere all of the blacks as shown. You could try using magnetic tape and the refrigerator. That might be super fun! In place of the glue dots, you use magnet tape. I'm not sure if the blocks will hold up. (I have a built in kitchen. So, I can't try this.) If not, use the glue dots. Use TINY glue dots. You want it just so they stick. I do know that regular tape comes off of laminate fairly simply.
If you've got one of those awesome cutting machines and can put this on wood, that would be just beautiful. Maybe frame the base image so the blocks stay on? Oooh, I'd love to see that! Oh! Another idea for ya. Put the printable in a picture frame. Then you can do the same as I explained above. Either use tape or glue dots for the blocks. That will ensure the base design will not get damaged and the glass will provide a surface where the adhesive of your choice will be easy to remove.
You could do any other kinds of project with this activity and not just the one it is intended for. Use the number blocks however you like and the image is so darn cute you could just frame it, shrink it down and add it to your tiered tray design for Halloween or use it for a card or party invitation.
In this download you will receive the background image in jpg format on an 8x11 inch printable. The blocks also come on an 8x11 inch sheet in both jpg and png formats.
Have fun with this cute Halloween project and look for more items that coordinate with it in Plus.
