Meet the brand new tools - Enhanced profiles to use in Lightroom (Cloud based) 1.3/ 6.1 and later, Lightroom Classic 7.3/ 12.1 and later, Adobe Camera RAW 10.3/ 15.1 and later, Adobe Photoshop CC 2018 v19.1.3/ 2023 v24.0 and later with Camera RAW plug-in, Lightroom Mobile 1.3/6.1 and later (via sync).
!!! Not compatible with the older versions of Lightroom (1-7.2, like CC2015.5 and ACR below 10.3), it's not possible to recreate the profiles as the presets, so please check the version of the software before buying. Again, you need April 2018 release (Lightroom v1.3, Lightroom Classic v7.3, ACR 10.3) or later.
Develop your RAW (from Sony and other cameras), Non-RAW images and the footages simulating the Sony camera's Creative Looks, Creative Styles and Picture Profiles.
Create stunning skintones, develop enchanted landscapes, nightscapes, sunsets, foliage and special effects.
With the A7S III, Sony has gotten rid of the Creative Styles and replaced them with Creative Looks.
When working with RAW files from other brand cameras, better use the Neutral / Flat profile to get the closest look, in other case the saturated colors may be overwritten.
The colors may differ due to the Color Space used, the camera models, the monitor calibration etc.
Creative Looks:
ST: Standard finish for a wide range of subjects and scenes.
PT: For capturing skin in a soft tone, ideally suited for shooting portraits.
NT: The saturation and sharpness are lowered for shooting images in subdued tones.
This is also suitable for capturing image material to be modified with a computer.
VV: The saturation and contrast are heightened for shooting striking images of colorful scenes and subjects such as flowers, spring greenery, blue sky, or ocean views.
VV2: Creates an image with bright and vivid colors with rich clarity.
FL: Creates an image with moody finish by applying sharp contrast to the calm coloring as well as the impressive sky and colors of the greens.
IN: Creates an image with matte textures by suppressing the contrast and saturation.
SH: Creates an image with bright, transparent, soft, and vivid mood.
BW: For shooting images in black and white monotone.
SE: For shooting images in sepia monotone.
Creative Styles:
Standard (default setting): To develop various scenes with rich gradation and beautiful colors.
Vivid: The saturation and contrast are heightened for shooting striking images of colorful scenes and subjects such as flowers, spring greenery, blue sky, or ocean views.
Neutral: The saturation and sharpness are lowered for shooting images in subdued tones. This is also suitable for capturing image material to be modified with a computer.
Clear: To develop images in clear tones with limpid colors in highlight, suitable for capturing radiant light.
Deep: To develop images with deep and dense colors, suitable for capturing the solid presence of the subject.
Light: To develop images with bright and simple colors, suitable for capturing a refreshingly light ambience.
Portrait: To develop the skin color in a soft tone, ideally suited for shooting portraits.
Landscape: The saturation, contrast, and sharpness are heightened for shooting vivid and crisp scenery. Distant landscapes also stand out more.
Sunset: To develop the beautiful red of the setting sun.
Night Scene: The contrast is lowered for reproducing night scenes.
Autumn leaves: To develop autumn scenes, vividly highlighting the reds and yellows of changing leaves.
Black & White: To develop images in black and white monotone.
Sepia: To develop images in sepia monotone.
The Picture Profile system includes a range of settings that adjust the tone curve and color response of the camera, with options to tweak the shape of the available tone curves' highlight and shadow responses and a choice of industry-standard color responses.
PP1 (Standard for Videos)
PP2 (Standard for Still Images)
PP3 (ITU709 Natural Color Tone)
PP4 (ITU709 Color Tone Faithful)
PP5 (Cine1)
PP6 (Cine2)
PP7 (S-Log2)
PP8 (S-Log 3 with S Gamut3 Cine Color)
PP9 (S-Log3 with S Gamut3 Color)
PP10 (HLG2)
PP11 (S-Cinetone) S-Cinetone is a new video look that introduces a color matrix that produces highly regarded skin tones.
Each Picture Profile contains the following settings:
Black Level The Black Level makes the blacks of your image harder (darker) or softer (lighter).
Gamma A gamma curve mediates the input signal level (the original scene and the amount of light available) and the output signal level (the amount of brightness the camera can reproduce).
Black Gamma Related to the gamma setting, black gamma allows you to change the gradation of dark areas in your image (darker or brighter).
Knee Knee allows you to control the signal in high sensitivity areas to have more or fewer details in the highlight zones.
Color Mode Here you’ll find various color types and color levels designed for different gamma curves.
Saturation This setting allows to fine-tune color saturation very precisely.
Color Phase Color Phase adjusts the color hue of your image (reddish or greenish).
Color Depth Here you can vary the luminance of the six main color channels (Red, Green, Blue, Cyan, Magenta and Yellow). This setting allows you to fine-tune colors very precisely and I consider this an advanced level.
Detail This parameter increases or decreases the strength of details.
Sony Cinema Pro Looks
A Look is a preset color management setting that emulates the monitoring and post-production tools used by professionals.
Venice CS A low contrast hue, great for natural skin tones and a cinematic feel.
Opaque Strong blue and yellow chroma gives a lyrical and pensive impression.
Bright Proper chroma of blue and strong yellow creates a plain and naturally gentle atmosphere.
Warm Gives a soft and warm atmosphere with a sepia tone, suitable for retrospective and flashback sequences.
Strong Strong contrast and a cold bluish hue gives a futuristic Sci-Fi expression.
Cool Light blue-based color brings out a refreshing atmosphere.
Soft Drama-style Look with a modest chroma and a hard tone.
