Journaling cards are possibly the most versatile elements in scrapbooking. They come in almost any size, colour, frame and texture, like most elements. Some have text, others only have lines while the rest are mainly blank sheets with decorative edges or corners.
First, they can be used as backgrounds for embellishments. You can use the journaling card as a fancy background for your stamps or illustrations. They can also be used as frames for your pictures. This is especially so when a journaling card is designed with a uniquely creative pattern about its edge. This can be done by either fitting the image to the card or creating an overlapping effect even with several other cards. Another way of using them with images is by having them added as word art just beside the photo.
We can also glue a large journaling card onto a matching paper and use it as a pocket for other journaling cards of pictures. What if we also cut out pieces of journaling cards we liked and used them as embellishments on the pocket? Honestly, the sky's the limit when it comes to these handy, versatile cards.
