Gold thread Text Effect in Photoshop

You will need two images to create this effect. A gold and a canvas or fabric backgrounds. Make sure they are large enough to fit your document and with a good resolution.
– In Photoshop open your Gold background. Go to Edit > Define Pattern and name your pattern “Gold”.

– Create a New Document and bring your Canvas/Fabric background into it.

- Select your “Type Tool” (T) and type your text. Choose the font of your liking.

– Double click your text layer to invoke the “Blending Options” dialog and apply the following values:

– Your text will now look similar to a golden thread.

– Now, create a New Layer, place it on top of your text layer and set the Blending Mode to “Overlay” with an opacity of 50%.

- Select your Text layer and go to Select > Load Selection, click OK. This should select only your text. Then go to your New Layer.

– Select the “Brush Tool” (B), make its size 20 pixels, its hardness 0%, black as the foreground color and “paint” some shadows where the letters should be overlapping.

– This should give your text a bit more detail.
