How to Delete Layers in Procreate

Procreate is an incredibly powerful app for creating digital artwork. With so many features available, it is important to be able to delete layers as well. Our free Procreate tutorial will show you the process of how to delete layers in Procreate with ease. We will discuss how to delete single layers, including how to delete multiple layers at once.

Step 1 - Delete Single Layers In Procreate
After you have created a new canvas in Procreate, draw or add your design elements. Design Bundles has some brilliant and totally FREE Design Resources that you can use in your projects.

Each design was imported by tapping on the Actions panel or wrench icon. Then we selected Add > Insert a File. As you can see, the designs were placed on their own layers. Doing so means that we can edit each layer without affecting the rest of the design.
To delete a layer, tap on any of the layers to highlight in blue and select it. Now, use your finger or your Apple Pencil and swipe the layer to the left. You will see the option to Delete, tap on it and the layer will be deleted.
Step 2 - Delete Multiple Layers in Procreate
Deleting multiple layers at once requires that each of those layers be selected first. In order to do this, you will need to swipe each layer to the right to select. This will highlight the selected layers in a dark blue. If you're not sure how to do this, we have a great guide on how to select multiple layers in Procreate.
At the top right-hand corner of the Layers Panel, you will see the Delete option become active. Tap on this to delete the selected layers all at once.
If you want to delete a group of layers, you will need to select the group and swipe to the left. Then, tap on the Delete option and the group of layers will be deleted.
