How To Use Photoshop Burn Tool

Ensure that your file has been downloaded and unzipped to use.

1- Open up Photoshop.



2-Open your image.


3- Click on the Dodge/Burn/Sponge Tool.

4- You can adjust the size of your brush by selecting the size tool or by adjusting it with the Ctrl + [ ] keys.


5-  By selecting the range option you can select different parts of your image to make darker with the burn tool.


6- You can select Shadows. This option will only darken the shadows on your image.


7-  You can also select Midtones. This will darken only the midtone areas in your image.


8- You can also select Highlights. This is great if you have overexposed prt of your image and will only affect the highlights in your image.


9-  If you want to adjust the whole image to darken it uncheck the protect tones option on your toolbar.


By using the burn tool in photoshop you can adjust the exposure on your image and target specific areas of your image.
