Show off your great taste in books with a sophisticated set of book ends showcasing a mandala in 3D.
The bookend stands just under 7" tall and just over 6.5" wide. The intricately designed mandala is shown off in three layers to add contrast and depth.
Be sure to use digital calipers to measure the thickness of your material before cutting to make sure all the pieces fit together properly. I've included files for 6 wood depths: 1/8 inch, 3mm, 4mm, 5mm, 6mm, and 1/4 inch.
I recommend staining or painting wood in watercolor paint to keep the wood grain look and maintain the depth of the pieces. If you use thicker paint, you'll need to adjust the holes in the base and back so the tabs will fit into them.
You will need glue to complete this book end project. Complete building instructions are included in the download.
I recommend using rubber bumpers on the base to keep the book end from sliding around on your shelf.
The Mandala Book End digital design comes in DXF, EPS, PDF, and SVG files to work with whatever equipment and software you have. The files are ready to use with all major laser cutters, including Glowforge.
Requirements:
• Files come in zip format. Typically files will open automatically or by double clicking on them. If not, you may need to get an unzipping program like Winzip or 7-Zip.
• You will need the appropriate software to open these files. This may include Adobe Illustrator, Inkscape, LightBurn or the software that comes with your cutting machine.
