Accessing Glyphs in PaintShop Pro

This tutorial will cover accessing glyphs in PaintShop Pro.

Glyphs enable you to create much more fancy designs very easily, as seen in our recent blog post Five Fancy Fonts to Enhance your Designs

Let's Begin...

1. Install the fancy font you wish to access glyphs in and open a design in Paint Shop Pro, We're using Lovely Melissa Font.

2. Select the text tool and click within your document.

3. Select your fancy font at the top where it says 'Fonts'.

4. Type in the text you wish to use in your design.

5. Open Character Map on your PC.

6. Select the 'Lovely Melissa' Font.

7. At the bottom of the window, check 'Advanced View', set Character Set to 'Unicode' and go to Group By > Unicode Subrange.

8. In the new window that opens, click Private Use Characters.

9. You will now see the fancy characters for the Lovely Melissa Font.

10. Find the character you wish to use, select it and click 'Copy' under the character panel.

11. Go back into PaintShop Pro and double click your text with the select tool to edit it, highlight the character you wish to replace.

12. Press Control-V or go to Edit > Paste to replace the highlighted character with your fancy copied character.

You can now use Fancy Glyphs and PUA encoded fonts with PaintShop Pro! Here are five recommended fancy fonts again:-
