Drawing a daisy end result

To create your daisy illustration, you can work with any art medium you are comfortable with. This includes digital apps such as Procreate.

For our flower drawing, we used Procreate and the standard brushes provided. You can also use any of our free Procreate brushes to make your outlines and apply color to your flowers.

You can combine our drawing guides on drawing a tulip or draw a marigold with your daisy clipart to make a bouquet.

Step 1 - Create Sketches of your Daisy

In our first step, you will need a sketching medium to make a rough daisy sketch. This can be any sketching tool, such as an HB pencil or a light-colored drawing medium.

In the center of your page, sketch a circular shape with wavy edges for the center of your daisy illustration. As shown in our example below, our center has waves, bumps, and jagged edges all the way around.

Create the center of your daisy

Next, sketch the first petal of your daisy to determine its shape and size. Our petal sketch is double the height of the center with a shallow indent at the top. You can create your petals in other forms too.

Determine the shape and size of your daisy petals

Starting around your center, continue adding more petals. Create a natural daisy look by making each petal unique, with a slightly different shape from the one next to it.

Step 2 - Line your Daisy Rough Sketch

Trace your rough sketches with a defined lining medium like a pen or black marker to create your daisy outline. These Procreate inking brushes work perfectly for lining and adding stipple effects to your drawings.

Base Outline

Follow your rough sketch lines and trace them. If there are overlapping sketch lines, only define the lines you want to keep.

Add Details

Add any details you think your daisy line art needs using your lining medium. There can be additional crease lines on each petal (indicated in blue) and a bunch of small circles in the center, as shown in red below.

Step 3 - Add Color to your Daisy Drawing

With your outlines done, move on to your coloring medium. Apply single colors of cream and yellow to your flower, or use different shades to add depth. We have a wide selection of color palettes you can use or get inspiration from.

Create unique textures and shading with Procreate brushes, and quickly add textures such as pastels, watercolors, or marker effects to your drawings.

Add realistic shading to your flower illustration with our how-to shade in Procreate tutorial. We teach you all kinds of tricks to apply color, using opacity in layers and blend modes.
