Each file comes with a weeding box around it, you can delete this if you choose not to use it. If you are using the file as a stencil, the weeding box will make it easier to keep straight lines for placement on your sign board.
These files were created to be used with a 24" x 6" piece of wood. I have created most of them to be 18" long in order to leave room at each end of the sign for twine wrapping. The designs that already have a border on them were created to fit the entire width and length of a 24" x 6" board.
