How to use any font with Silhouette Cameo Machine
If you are a designer with Silhouette Cameo machine and you want to use any of the fonts that are already installed in your computer then this tutorial will be helpful to you.
We have divided this tutorial into the below parts:

Part 1 – What all you need to system fonts in Silhouette Cameo machine?
When you purchase Silhouette Cameo then it comes with a CD / DVD that comprises of the Silhouette Design Software and Drivers. Once the Silhouette Design Software and Drivers are installed in your computer, you will be ready to use any font installed in your computer with Silhouette Cameo machine.
Part 2 – How to install Silhouette Design Software?
Perform the below steps to install Silhouette Design Software in your computer:
- Open diskette and insert the CD/DVD that you have received with your Silhouette Cameo machine.
- Within a few moments, you will see the Autoplay window.
- Click Open folder to view files in the General options section.
- Double-click the Setup file. When you double-click the file, you may be asked to give permissions to continue with the installation process. In this case, click the Yes button on the dialog box that appears asking for the permission.
- When you click the Yes button, the installation wizard will appear.
- Read and Accept the Terms and Conditions and click the Next button
- Now, follow the instructions given on the screen and complete the installation process.
This is how to install Silhouette Design Software in your computer. Once this software is installed, you need to install Silhouette Drivers.
Part 3 – How to install Silhouette Cameo Drivers?
Perform the below steps to install Silhouette Cameo Drivers in your computer:
Note: We are continuing this process from start so that if someone just needs to install Driver of Silhouette then he / she does not need to read Part 2 of this tutorial. If you have followed the process in Part 2 of this tutorial then you can skip the initial steps in this tutorial unless you get access to the Drivers folder.
- Open diskette and insert the CD/DVD that you have received with your Silhouette Cameo machine.
- Within a few moments, you will see the Autoplay window.
- Click Open folder to view files in the General options section. Here you will see Drivers folder.
- Open the Drivers folder. Inside that you may have sub-folders named English and Japanese.
- Open the folder as per your own language.
- Inside the folder you will see the Driver file.
- Double-click the Driver file. When you double-click the file, you may be asked to give permissions to continue with the installation process. In this case, click the Yes button on the dialog box that appears asking for the permission.
- When you click the Yes button, the installation wizard will appear.
- Click the OK button.
- Click Next.
- Again click the Next button. The installation process will start. And, if in the middle of the installation, if you see any security warning like “publisher of this driver software cannot be verified” simply ignore that warning and continue with the Installation process.
- Click the OK button to finish the installation process and close the installation wizard.
Part 4 – How to use any font in Silhouette Cameo Machine?
Once the Silhouette software has been installed in your computer, fonts installed in your computer will be automatically synched in the Silhouette software. It means you do not need to perform any addition tasks. Just start the Silhouette software and select the fonts that you want to use.
