The approximate size of the opening for the bottle is 9 * 34cm (3.5x13.4 inches), this corresponds to a standard bottle of the Bordeaux type.

5mm (0.196"), 

6mm (0.236").

I recommend using an electronic vernier caliper to check the thickness of your material before purchasing.
