We have chosen to use a beautiful vacation stock photo but we have an amazing selection of stock photos to choose from.
Step 1 - Open the Frame Panel
First, we need to open our photo. Once you click on Pixascape you will be taken to the landing page with an Upload button. Click on this button to upload the photo you want to use.
After your image has loaded, go to the left side panel and click on the bottom most icon. If you hover your mouse over this icon it will say Frames. A window will open up with a large selection of frame themes, each with their own options.
Step 2 - Add a Frame to the Image
You can choose from a range of ready made frames or start with a custom frame. Each frame has settings that can be changed to however you want.
Custom Border
If you want a simple frame, go with Customer Border. We will give you a quick example below. Click on Custom Border to open the menu options.
In the Custom Border options, you can add an Outer and Inner Border, each with their own color. You can adjust the thickness of each border and even round off edges of the Inner Border.
If you want to add a space for a caption, just increase the Caption Space value. This will create a space beneath the photo for writing.
To change the color of the borders, click on the Color Picker box. Then choose a color. You can also use the eyedropper tool next to the HEX code, then click anywhere to pick a color.
When you are done editing your custom frame, click on Apply. If you don’t and move to another frame, your changes will be lost.
Add a Decorative Border
There is a huge selection of ready made frames with different themes to choose from. Click on any of the theme menus and scroll through the frames. We chose the Hand Drawn theme and Frame 031.
The position of the frame can be adjusted slightly by moving the round slide button. The frame will be white by default but this can be changed.
We want to edit the color and opacity a bit. This is done under the settings option, which looks like three rows with slides. Here you can change the Orientation but this may crop the image as seen below.
The frame can also be flipped horizontally or vertically. To change the color click on the Color Picker box and adjust the Opacity if needed.
When you are done, you can click on Apply to keep the changes. If you want to try another frame, simply click Cancel and then click on a different choice. You don’t need to undo anything. It’s that easy to move around and choose a style for your photo.
But keep in mind, if you do want to keep the changes you must click Apply before moving on. In the image below, we closed out of the Hand Drawn theme. We then chose a frame from the Grunge theme where the color and opacity were adjusted.
You can then carry on to edit using Filtersor Effects or even add text to your photo. We kept the Hand Drawn frame and added a painterly feel using the Effects panel in Pixascape.
We hope you enjoyed this quick and fun tutorial on how to add a frame to photos in Pixascape. Frames can be used to bring the focus to a specific part of the photo or just to add a bit of character. With so many options available in Pixascape, you are sure to find something for any project.
