How to Resize the Document and Unlock Layers in Photoshop

Ensure that your file has been downloaded and unzipped to use.

1- Open Photoshop. Select file from the top panel.k1

2- select the image you would like to resize.

3- With the file open, click Image icon on the top tool bar and then in the dropdown box Image Resize.

4-A new pop up window will appear.

5- At the top of the pop up window you will see the original size of your image.

6- In the next box this will give you standard presets for image sizes, like A4, 6x4 and so on. these can be picked if needed but you can also change the size manually. If you use this option the image will keep the aspect ratio for you.

Change your size and then select OK.

7- Your image has now changed size.

UNLOCKING LAYERS/LOCKING LAYERS

8- We need 2 layers really to show this feature, so right click on your image in the layers tab and create a duplicate layer.

9-Type some text on your image. this will give you a text layer. You can see this in the layers palette. Once my text is how I want it, you can use the lock layers feature to ensure it stays there.

10- Select the layers you want to lock in your layers palette. Click on the little padlock . this will lock the layers you highlighted.

11-You can also unlock the layers by clicking on the padlock to unlock them.
