How to Use Mock Ups in Photoshop

Ensure that your file has been downloaded and unzipped to use. if you are unsure how to do this check the tutorial here.

1- Open Photoshop. Select file from the top panel.

2- Select the mock up file you would like to use.

3- The file will appear in your workspace.

On the right, in the layers palette you will see the smart objects. these are all editable. firstly we can edit the handle. Double click on it in the layers palette. This will open a new workspace.

4- In the new workspace you will see the transparent file. at this point you can change the colour of the bag handle.

5- Double click on the colour in the layers palette (1) then a new box will appear and you can adjust the colour you would like. Once the colour is picked click OK (2)

When you are happy with the colour click Ctrl+S to save the colour. this will automatically change the original mock up.

6- Click back on your original mock up. You will see the handle is now the new colour.

7- Select the logo smart object in the layers palette. Double click on it to edit.

8- The new workspace will open with the current mock up. Go to File in the top tool then Place Embedded. This will open a new window.

9- In the new window, find the file you would like to use. Once you find it select Place.

10- The new image will appear over the original one in the workspace. Double click on the new image and this will make it a smart object.

11- Now your new image is a smart object, go to the layers palette and uncheck the little eye in the original logo layer. This will make the original logo become not seen. (it is still there but Photoshop makes it invisible unless we select it again.

Press Ctrl+S (Cmd + S on Mac) to save your changes.

12- Go back to your original file and you will see your new image onto your mock up file!
