Posted on 13th June 2017
- Log in to Brother Scan and cut canvas online.

- Create a new project.

- Select the image trace icon .

- a new window will appear. select the choose file option.

- Select the file you would like to trace, This first image is only black and white. And i want to trace its outline as it is only one colour. Select the outline option and adjust the number of colours option between 3-5 as there is only 2 colours total. black and white.

Once you have done this select preview.

- The software will process it and then show you the image traced. The trace lines will appear in the preview window as blue lines. If you are happy with the trace lines select OK.

- A new window will appear. It will ask you if you also want the image on your virtual work space. for this occasion I do not need it so select No.

- As you can see on your virtual work space the traced image outline has appeared. At this point you can save it as a FCM file or you can download it to cut in your SnC machine.

- Now if you have a coloured image you would like to trace you can do the exact same thing as above and trace the outline only. If you would like to trace each colour the color option.

- Select your coloured image. I am using the Patches badges from designbundles.net

- your image will appear in the preview window. Adjust the number of colours to the number on the image. Click on preview.

- You will see in the preview window that the blue trace lines are around each colour. If they are not increase the number of colours and select the preview window again.

When you are happy select OK.

- A new window will appear. It will ask you if you also want the image on your virtual work space. for this occasion I do not need it so select No.

- In your virtual work space the image traced will appear.

- each section is traced separately. You can now cut each part in a different colour.

- As each part is separate you can also fill each section with different colours as well so you can save and know in future what colour card you need for each piece.
