In this step by step tutorial we will show you how to easily turn off grid lines at any time.
Grid lines in Cricut Design Space can be useful but at times you may not want to see them. While it is easy to turn them off, a beginner might not know where to look. We can help you there. In this tutorial we will show you how to turn off the Grid Lines in Cricut Design Space.
To begin log in to Cricut Design Space and create a new project. I will be using my text tool totype out "Design Bundles" with a beautiful handwritten font.
Step 1- Turning Grid Lines On and Off
First, locate the small square that will turn on and off your grid lines. You can find this square on the top left side of your canvas ruler. Yes, this little space actually does something.
Place note that I'm starting with the full grid on my canvas page which we will go over shortly.
Next, click on the square. You will notice that your grid lines are now turned off. This is a great option to have when you find it difficult to work with gridlines.
You canuse this square to turn off the grid linesand also turn them back on. If you click on the square once more, a partial grid will appear.Your grid lines are nowvisible and you can proceed with your design.
You are able to turn the grid lines on and off under the Cricut Settings. To do so, click on the three lines on the top left-hand corner of your screen and click Settings.
A window will appear, and you will be able to turn off your grid by selecting No Grid.To turn the Grid back on you can simply click on Partial grid or Full Grid button. A grid will appear when selecting these two options.
Step 2 - Resizing Grid Lines
You have a couple of sizing options to choose from when you turn your grid lines back on.
The Partial Grid is the first option when using the small square to turn on your grid lines. This grid looks similar to your Cricut cutting mat. Just like your cutting mat each square represents one inch. This grid is easy to use when working in inches and for a quick size reference. You can access this same grid under the Cricut settings.
When you click on the small square again, you will have access to the full grid. This grid consists of both larger squares in inches, and smaller squares in centimeters. The sizegrid is excellent when working with multiple projects with different sizes. You will also have access to this grid when you click Full Grid under Cricut Settings.
You can easily use both grids as a size reference to your actual Cricut cutting mat. It will make sizing your artwork a breeze. Still, it's always great to have the option to turn the grids off when necessary.
