How to Use the Canva Background Remover
Remove the background of an image without Photoshop by using Canva.
Sometimes we may have a photo that would look great with a different background. This could be a photo of yourself that you want to put on a plain background to use for a job, or you may want to add more interest to your photo by putting it on a cool background. With Canva Pro, you can remove the background of any photo in just a few clicks!
Step 1: Open Canva
Make sure you have a Canva Pro account to be able to use this feature. If you are on a free account, you can grab Canva Pro for free for 30 days from their website.
Step 2: Select the Layout Type
You can select a design type by clicking a layout you like or you can customize the dimensions of your design by tapping the Custom Size button and entering your preferred dimension. Here, we are going to use an Instagram layout.
Your design space will appear in a new window.
Step 3: Select Your Template
Select your chosen template and it will appear in your Design Space.
Step 4: Upload Your Image
Upload the image from your computer. From the side panel, click on the Uploads tab and then click on Upload Media.
Tap Upload from Device and select the image you’d like to work with. We’ll be using a woman stock photo from the Design Bundles Plus Membership. Click open and wait for the upload.
Step 5: Insert the Image
Once uploaded, your image file will then show up in the Gallery tab. Tap on the image you just uploaded, it will be added to your design.
Step 6: Use the Background Remover Tool
With the image still selected, click on the Effects button on the top corner of your toolbar. Next, select Background Remover.
And just like that, your background will be automatically removed!
Next, simply drag your image into the perfect spot.
Step 7: Make Any Additional Edits
You can resize your image by clicking any of the white circle handles on the corner and drag it in or out. You can also resize and arrange the placement of the other elements in your graphic for balance.
