How to thicken fonts in silhouette V4.1

Posted on 1st November 2017

1- Open Silhouette studio.

2- Type your text.

3- With the text highlighted, click on the text style icon and select the text you would like to thicken.

I have used the font Marthas vintage from fontbundles.net.

4- Select the offset tool.

5- Click the offset icon. You will see a boarder/offset appear around your text.

6- You can adjust the size of the offset via the distance slider. Once you are happy with the offset click Apply.

7- As you can see the offset creates the text to appear wider.

8- You can also use the offset tool to make really this swirly fonts thicker. This is a fantastic help when you want to cut them from vinyl and they are too thin to cut.

Select the font. I am using Lovely Melissa from fontbundles.net.

9- Select the offset icon and click on it.

10- As you can see, by using the offset on the thinner fonts, it makes it that little bit thicker to cut.
